Salary Structure Setup

 
Welcome to AlignBooks. We are happy to have you on board. In this help studio tutorial, we will explore the HR Payroll – Salary Structure setup options.
 
Under Salary Structure Setup you will have define the Salary Components with the configuration which need to follow for your company can be captured under head Basic. In Salary Components user can add up to 10 components in one company.
 
Salary Structure Setup
 
      Click on Add button to add new component
    Click on Cross to remove the component.

Description

Enter the name of component by which it is identified.

Alias

Enter the Alias name of the Component which will be short name used for calculation purpose in the Statutory components. Like ESI, PF etc.

Round Off Option

Select the relevant option from drop down list if you want to round off the amount of component to be actual, Lower, Upper or None.  
  • Actual : Making the Amount equal to the integer that is closest to the Amount.
  • Lower : Making the Amount equal to the next smaller integer that is larger than the Amount.
  • Upper : Making the Amount equal to the next largest integer that is smaller than the Amount.
  • None : No change in Amount.

Editable

Enable this option if you want to manually specify the value of component at the time of Salary Process. When “No” is selected, the System will automatically calculate the amount based on the configuration and present days of employee.

Taxable

Enable this option if the component is Taxable for TDS Deduction.

Presence Dependent

Enable this option if the calculation of this component is based on the present days of the employee. Like Basic and HRA will be calculated on the present days for the month but Mobile phone deduction is not based on his present days.

Component Type

Select the relevant option from drop down list and specify the type of component.

Add / Deduct

Select the relevant option from drop down list if the component will be added to the Salary or Deducted from Salary or Floating which means you will decide at the time of salary process.

Salary Posting GL

Here Specify the Expense ledger in which this component will be accounted for Salary type employees.

Wages Posting GL

Here Specify the Expense ledger in which this component will be accounted for Wages type employees.
 
Click on   to save the information entered in HR Salary Structure Setup.
 
 
Now we will look for Statutory Setup. Click on “Statutory” Tab of the panel.
